Reto and Tanja with Kesh (from 02.10.20):

We park in Erlach on the parking lot near the lake, which is subject to charge. From here we walk to Erlach Castle, where we can enjoy the view of Lake Biel and the Petersinsel for the first time.

On the ascent we pass pretty old town houses. After the castle the vineyards begin. We pass several benches with a beautiful view of Lake Biel. When we reach the Joliment plateau we see the Joliment estate with its avenues. This is private property and can only be viewed from afar.

We continue walking along the ridge and have a view of the Chasseral. At the end of the estate we come to a beautiful forest. There is a hisotoric path, which can be downloaded. We pass several bunkers from World War I, which Reto finds very interesting.

He descends into a bunker shaft, which causes an outraged barking at Kesh. We also pass impressive erratic blocks. At the Joliment we hike back again. Above the zoo Tschugg Kesh puts his nose into the wind and gets quite nervous.

Back at Joliment Gut we see the impressive avenue leading to the main entrance. Soon we have again a nice view on the lake and nice benches for a rest.

We descend by the vines back to Erlach and walk through the historic beautiful town back to our car.

In a bakery we buy another fine Nidletorte.
