Nathalie with Indira (from 18.05.20):
The Linner lime tree is a striking summer lime tree (approx. 800 years old) which stands near Linn on the municipal boundary of Bözberg in the canton of Aargau. With a height of approx. 25 metres and a trunk circumference of 11 metres, it is considered the mightiest tree in the Aargau. Legend has it that the lime tree was donated in memory of the plague by one of the last remaining villagers.
As it was already warm, we decided to take a leisurely walk to the waterfall, which is only about 30 minutes away. Parking is free of charge at the impressive lime tree which also serves as a starting point for numerous hikes. The way to the waterfall is well signposted. If you like, you can also take the easy circular hiking trail (about 1 hour) nature and culture trail .
On the way to the waterfall there are several possibilities where dog and master can refresh themselves. The forest is part of the nature reserve but cosy places invite young and old to stay and have a barbecue. We explore and marvel at the landscape and then go back the same way. The area is popular with hikers and bikers in good weather.
ATTENTION: From 1 APRIL - 31 JULY, linen is compulsory in the canton of Aargau in and around the forest. In the nature reserve all year round.
