Elvira with Amigo (from 07.07.20):
We parked in Unterterzen (for a fee) and took the gondola up to Tannenboden (where parking is available) and further up to Maschgenkamm. Attention the gondola does not stop, thus one must get in quickly while it drives, also when getting out.
The high altitude hike starts on the Maschgenkamm and leads first alongside the Ziger to the Zigerfurgglen. Between the rocks at the Ziger, many kinds of plants prosper, so that the high altitude path becomes a unique colour spectacle. From Zigerfurgglen, the trail continues along the slope in a southerly direction via Sächserseeli and tunnels.
Now the Spitzmeilen has taken command and more or less sets the direction. Destination and turning point of the hike is the Spitzmeilenhütte SAC. There we stop at the hut and have a delicious meal. Right next to it the terrain drops steeply down into the Schillstal over a break-off edge. Spectacular views are guaranteed.
The return route leads via Calanshüttli back to Zigerfurgglen. Here you could go down again with the gondola if you like. But then we walked further down to Seebenalp and where one can stay at the lake again or have a break in the restaurant and then down to Tannenboden where we took the gondola back down to Unterterzen.
