Katja Sandra with the dogs Luna Duschka Dexter Jenna (from 14.07.20):

In Ilanz we first had to get into the public transport, the post bus brought us to Uors.

Here the start of this tour began for us. At the bottom of the Vals Rhine there is the first fireplace. For us it went on towards Surcasti, where we followed the signposts to Schumials. Through an empty cow pasture, which are probably rather in spring and autumn cows, we reached the also very inviting fireplace of Schumials. And we followed the way to Silgin, where we walked along parts of the forest again and again.

In Silgin there is a self-service shop with tables. We gladly accepted this offer and chatted a little with the owner (on Sunday there is also a broom malt shop open).

Afterwards we went on the last part of the way to the suspension bridge. I had already seen pictures before. So we knew that the flooring was good for the dogs. The bridge is 67 meters long and at the highest point 45 meters high.

Before we went on the bridge. We registered ourselves still well-behaved in the bridge book.
And yes I am honest. After entering the bridge I had to breathe again. Take the leashes of my 2 dogs in one hand. So I could move sideways halten😅.

But then the world inside me was okay again. And my dogs, for Dexter it was his first suspension bridge, followed me trustingly behind me as usual.

From Pruastg to Surin a part of the road unfortunately follows the road. A pity, but there are not always separate paths for us hikers. But only 1 car crossed us.

After crossing the Glogn (stream) we went up to Vrin, where we took the post bus back to Ilanz.

With clouds the tour is also possible in summer. But avoid sunny days.

Since we were on the way with train dogs we prefer more ⬆

as down ️⬇ ️ With non-train dogs I would probably approach it the other way round and then enjoy the barbecue place at the Vals Rhine.
