First, we started with the mountain railway from Unterwasser towards Illtios. We had enough space in the cable car and could place the dogs super under the benches. The hiking start was then at the station Illtios, where you could also eat or drink something. On the beautiful terrace one sits with the dogs wonderfully and can enjoy the first impressions. The demanding mountain hike leads from the station Iltios up to Chäserrugg and via Hinterrugg back to Iltios. Passing by the peaceful cows, we mastered the ascent and sweated like crazy! But looking down convinced us again and again that the view from above must be even more unbelievable, so we had to keep on fighting! Arrived at Chäserrugg, we were rewarded for the ascent! On the other side we saw a huge mountain panorama! We had great weather and admired the 360° view. We had a short aperitif and enjoyed our sandwich before we went on towards Hinterrugg. There we dropped our jaws for the second time, we could see the beautiful Lake Walen and the nice little town of Walenstadt. We also stayed there for a short time and tried to find out which mountain could be which, before we started the rather difficult descent. I felt my thighs quite a bit at the end, which is also a good sign because you realize that you have done something. Luckily there were many spots between trees and bushes during the descent, so we didn't get the full load of sun. Totally exhausted we enjoyed the view from Illtios again until we went down again by train.
