Cornelia with Astor and Arco (from 04.04.18):

We parked in Baar in the center, right next to the train station. From there the hiking trail already starts. The first 3 hours are 5.- sfr parking fee, then 1.- per hour. Right at the start, the Lorze river begins where the dogs can bathe for the first time. Up to the Höllgrotte, there are many barbecue areas right next to the Lorze river, so the dogs can always go into the water on the whole way. At the Höllgrotte, you can go in with the dogs, or you can walk further to the power station. There you go over the bridge in the direction of the ruins of Wildenburg. You leave the river/forest path and then take a strenuous nature trail to the ruin. Sure-footedness is absolutely necessary. If you want to skip this part, no problem, you can also cross the bridge and walk back on the other side. In front of the ruins, you will be rewarded with a wonderful natural spectacle: a waterfall and a brook that moves wildly through the rock. After about 200m you will reach the ruins. It is very worthwhile to visit them. After a short break we followed the hiking trail back to Baar. Again we follow a narrow natural path through the forest back to the Höllgrotte to Baar. A wonderful trip for dogs and owners.

We recommend to take the same way back on the way back from Höllgrotte, because there is no river access on the other side.

In addition: The hike can also be shortened to about 1 hour and is, if you leave out the steep part at the EWZ, also very well feasible for senior dog owners. Simply drive by car to the Höllgrotte (enough PP). At the EWZ, drive up the road to the covered wooden bridge and turn right (it is also a bit steep and asphalted), then cross the road and follow the hiking trail.
