Nathalie and Roman with indira (from 18.09.20):

My brother and I have again decided on a stage of the route via Alpina. This time in the Bernese Oberland.

Since Zweisimmen was the central point from start / finish, we parked there and took the train to Lenk.

The route starts right at the train station and leads through the village to the Wallbach and the gorge of the same name. From there, a steep path follows along the beautiful gorge to the Restaurant Wallegg, where we take our first rest.

Well strengthened, we continue our walk. The path rises steadily and leads over gentle pastures, above the tree line, up to the Trütlisbergpass, the highest point of the route. Here we can expect a fantastic view, so we take another break and enjoy the beautiful weather.

From the Trütlisbergpass, the route then follows a steady descent along a moor path (a section of which is covered with latticework elements) into the Turbachtal valley. Along the route there is another small, cosy, rustic restaurant that invites you to stay. We don't want to miss the wonderful crumble cake that is recommended to us.

Afterwards we take the path along the Turbach towards Gstaad, where we take the train towards Zweisimmen.

Along the whole route there are always opportunities where dog and master can refresh themselves. Nevertheless, we recommend that you pack enough water, as much of the trail is in the sun.

ATTENTION: Approx. 3/4 of the route leads over alpine meadows, so dogs must be kept on a leash! If you prefer to avoid the cows, it is better to take the route at the end of September or in spring (when there is no more snow) and the cows are not yet/no longer in the pastures.
