Livia with Thomas and Kaya (from 18/11/18):

Directly from Ennenda station (free parking) today's journey takes us for about 10 minutes through the quarters (follow the signs) before we take the medium-sized Aeugstenbahn to Bärenboden. At 1446 m.a.s.l., directly above the sea of fog, our 2-hour hike begins. From Bärenboden there are numerous beautiful hikes, from 1 hour to day hikes, e.g. the Fessisseeli. All paths are easy to walk on, fit into the surroundings and marked. We choose the circular trail "Holzflue" (approx. 2 hours). For the first 45 minutes it goes well uphill, but the always fantastic view of the surrounding mountain world lets us forget. Good shoes are recommended. The circular hike takes us through the forest to the high moor up to Alp Begligen. From here there is also the possibility to climb the Schilt. Our way leads us further through the forest reserve back to Aeugsten. We stop here again and enjoy the hospitality and the beautiful surroundings before we take the train back to the starting point.

The forest reserve is situated in the Swiss wildlife reserve Schilt and in a game reserve zone. Dogs must be kept on a leash.
