The pilgrimage is without doubt one of the original forms of hiking and can look back on a tradition that is already centuries old. Since time immemorial, people have set out on their way to places of worship and religiously significant places and have thus created pilgrim paths over the course of time. Even today, these routes are still heavily frequented and sometimes also used for pilgrimage with dogs.
Probably the most famous pilgrimage route in Europe is the so-called Way of St. James, which leads to Santiago de Compostela to the famous grave of the apostle James.
20 teams are on their way for you to explore the Swiss Way of St. James with dog. Because many tarred roads and cobblestone paths are not suitable for our paw friends. Thanks to great pilgrim contributions, we have put together some stages for you here, where you can also find accommodation.
Please always follow the (leash) regulations, so that in the future the doors will be open for all pilgrims with fur nose and dogs will be welcome.
