Braunwald Ortstock

To Braunwald with the Braunwaldbahn and then with the gondola up the Gumen. The hike to the Ortstock starts directly from there, via Büetzi to Lauchboden. From here the hike continues over a steep scree field to Furggele. From Furggele up to the Ortstock summit at 2717 metres above sea level. From here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Glarus mountain panorama with Tödi/Clariden and other mountain peaks.
In the beginning there are free-range sheep. In the upper area there is rock scree, therefore a somewhat challenging hike. At one point there is a rope to hold on to. There my dog didn't need any help, I just had to show her where she had to make a small jump, because there was a slight rise. On the way down we walked over the Bärentritt to the Braunwaldbahn.

I would only recommend this hike with dogs that are physically very fit.

And the Bärentritt is only for experienced hikers who are free from giddiness, because this place is secured with ropes and there are partly very high steps to climb.
