Chrindli - Oberbärgli - Stockhorn

For this tour we choose a day of the week and the north flank because we think it will be less crowded then.

We park our car at the valley station of the Stockhorn cable car in Erlenbach i.S. and take the cable car to the middle station Chrindi. Arrived in Chrindi we start via the hiking trail towards Oberbärgli with a view of the Hinderstockensee.

It's quite fresh and already has snow. At the beginning we walk in the shade but see the sun on the south flank.

We don't meet anybody, most of them choose the southern ascent or stay at the lake.

Kesh is in hunting fever and shows us several chamois. After Oberbärgli we soon reach the northern flank with a view of Lake Thun. On the north flank we are then surprised by quite a lot of snow.

It is also difficult to lead the very excited Kesh because there is a herd of chamois in front of us. We have never seen so many in one place before! The view is really terrific. But we are glad when we climbed the north face.

It is definitely advisable to hike this tour without snow. Now we join the other hiking trail and meet some other hikers.

At the restaurant Stockhorn we first climb to the top. Then we have lunch in the dog-friendly restaurant.

The return we start with the gondola to the middle station and with another Godel into the valley.
