We start this beautiful round trip in Altdorf and let us be transported by gondola to Eggberge (a special round trip ticket can be bought, dogs cost CHF 6.-). Here you can already enjoy a wonderful panorama of the Lake of Uri. You hike gently uphill on a natural road. Passing meadows and forests, you reach the idyllic mountain lake after about 1.5 hours. Here, a great panorama of the imposing mountains of Uri opens up. On the way and at the lake there are picnic and barbecue areas. After a little refreshment, the path continues slightly downhill to the mountain station Ruogig. In summer there are cow pastures, which have to be crossed. But the animals were very peaceful and it was no problem for us to pass with Eila.
The gondola takes us in two sections down to Bürglen. There we board the bus, which takes us back to our starting point.
