Hinderstockesee - Lake Oberstockesee

The hike starts at the middle station of the Stockhorn cable car (called Chrindi).

From there you walk uphill along Hinterstockensee and then up to Vorderstockenalp. This ascent is the strictest part of the hike. But the following panoramic view of the Alps makes you forget the exertions immediately.

Soon the Oberstockensee comes into view, which serves as a peaceful place to linger and enjoy thanks to various benches. At the other end of the lake, the path then separates back to the middle station, a little way up to the Oberstockenalp mountain inn or, for the very fit, up to the Stockhorn.

As this is a mountain hiking trail, good footwear is an advantage. However, the path is never sloping and is therefore perfect for hiking with a dog and/or child.
