Iwialp circular hike

We park on the parking lot of the Mörlialp. There is also a bus stop here, the bus only runs on Wednesdays, weekends and during school holidays. Our hike starts in the nature reserve of the Merlisee. Then we follow the Gibsgraben, an impressive gorge. At the end of the forest we cross pastures and later a road. We are now on the Iwialp. The view is very nice to Giswil, the Sarnersee and the Stanserhorn, Pilatus, Rigi and other mountains. We pass a pretty chapel which also enjoys this beautiful view. After the alp the path leads us back into the forest and we have to walk a short distance on the road until we can change again to the hiking trail. Here the path climbs steeply towards Sandboden. On the Sandboden we walk to a nice bench again with the view of the Sarnersee and the mountains. Strengthened, we hike all the way back up to the parking lot.
