Andrea Norinelli with Pax (from 05.04.2025):

Aiming high - a hike around Monte Bré

The funicular takes you comfortably up to Monte Bré - the starting point for an impressive hike along the flanks of Monte Boglia. The trail soon leads through shady beech and chestnut forests, which are pleasantly cool in summer and enchant with their lush greenery.

The route is varied: narrow and exposed in places, it requires good surefootedness and a head for heights - but those who dare will be rewarded with spectacular views. Time and again, fountains and benches invite you to pause - perfect for a short break or simply to enjoy the moment.

During the summer months, the inn on Alpe Bolla welcomes hikers with refreshments and snacks. The view over Lake Lugano and the surrounding peaks is simply breathtaking - a panorama you won't soon forget.

The descent continues along the mountain flank to the dreamy village of Cureggia, before finally heading back to Lugano-Albonago.

The tour can be adapted to suit your mood: If you are not afraid of heights, you can hike directly to Alpe Bolla via the summit of Monte Boglia. Or you can take the path from Cureggia back to Monte Bré and then take the funicular down into the valley.
