Livia with Thomas and Kaya (from 11.07.18):

After we enjoyed the view from the lighthouse, we are now on our way to Lake Toma. Directly from the parking lot the hiking trail leads along a small spring stream, where Kaya can refresh herself on this sunny summer day. Two thirds of the way is constantly ascending on a well prepared hiking trail. Due to the fact that it hasn't rained so often and the path is on a sunny slope, this partly sandy ground reminds of southern destinations. However, to the left and right of the path the wonderfully blooming flora (alpine roses, margrites, white cotton grass) shows us the splendour of the Swiss Alps. Crossing the herd of cows is no problem, even for our rather anxious bitch Kaya. Guided on a short leash with goal-oriented steps the tiptop goes. From time to time we cross spring streams, so good footwear (also waterproof) is a big advantage, even if there is not so much water today.

Then the gradient of the path increases. I with my 1.62m sometimes even have to use my hands to climb the rather big rock steps. For me as a rather "panoramic hiking trail hiker" it is rather exhausting, Kaya is totally enthusiastic and jumps/climbed up the trail like a small chamois.

The effort is rewarded, embedded between the mountains below the Piz Badus there is the Tomasee, which belongs to the federal inventory of landscapes and natural monuments of national importance and its water has drinking water quality. Here we stay and enjoy.

As a way back, the route via Maighels-Hütte can be chosen. However, we are already a little late and choose the same route back to the car park.
