Riederhorn circular route

From the top station Riederalp West the green ProNatura signpost and the yellow hiking trail lead to Riederfurka, in about 30 minutes up to Villa Cassel. The Villa Cassel can be admired from the outside because of its architecture and from the inside because of the flora & fauna exhibition of pronatura. If you want to take a short break to admire the foothills of some glaciers, you can use the many benches and restaurants. Continuing behind the villa of Sir Ernest Cassel, you will follow an inconspicuous path into the beauty of the Swiss stone pine forest, which surrounds the Riederhorn. Without great differences in altitude, the soft forest path leads leisurely along the rocks and offers views into the Massa Gorge with the Gibidum reservoir and the opposite slopes of Belalps. Once around Riederhorn, on the eastern side of the mountain, the path descends towards Riederalp. The forest thins out and offers a wonderful view of the village and the whole Goms valley.
