Round hike Glarus - Klöntalersee

On 22. August I will be the hiking guide with a group from Glarus up to the Schwammhöhe and then along the lake. Since I did not know the route Glarus - Schwammhöhe yet, Tim was allowed to be present at the reconnaissance as usual. So we made it our 1st August morning walk:

Even though the route is mostly in the forest, it's worth starting early on hot days: Especially the first part is very sunny. Tim and I were already at 8:30 a.m. up on the sponge height at the restaurant. The restaurant doesn't open until 9am, but I still got a nice cup of coffee. I enjoyed it with a wonderful view of the Klöntalersee. The descent to the lake followed. Then it happened: Someone down at the lake had to let go of a "firecracker". From then on Tim was bucking. He didn't want to go down to the lake anymore, but back again. But I didn't want that. So for better or worse he had to get off with me - and I was hoping that this one bang would be the end of it - and it was. Fortunately. So we didn't make a detour into the lake, but descended through the Lönchtobel. The road here is quite close and you can hear it from time to time, but the landscape is really very attractive. I think it is worth it. Here you meet more people than during the ascent.

From this little hike you can make a day trip, because at the lake you can spend hours with your dog.
