Nathalie with Indira (from 13.06.2020):
Since the weather is rather unstable at the moment, I decided to go for a leisurely tour. I parked at the station Schöftland where the route starts.
At the beginning the path leads through the castle park and a bit through industrial and residential areas (which I would not have found without hiking trail signs).
After that, one moves away from the noise of the road and the path leads into the shady forest. At "auf der Ebni" just follow the signpost straight ahead, otherwise you walk in a semicircle :-).
The whole route up to Staffelbach takes a leisurely course, sunny and shady sections alternate, but it is still advisable to do the tour in the morning or towards evening. At Staffelbach we follow the signpost "Sandsteinbruch" (sandstone quarry) and after a short time we meet the impressive quarry hidden in the forest, which allows a sausage over the fire even in bad weather.
Indira and I still explore the area and stay a little longer and then go to the bus stop Suhrenbrücke, with the bus back to Schöftland.
ATTENTION: THE QUARRY IS NOT ACCESSIBLE DURING SHOOTING. INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND ON THE SG-STAFFELBACH PAGE.
