Nathalie and Christian with Indira (from 29.09.19):

Today we took the stage 4 of the Route 95 Au fil du Doubs.

We started right away in the sleepy village of Soubey, where there are public free parking lots at the Doubs. At first the trail leads over asphalt, through forest and you can only partially or from a distance see the Doubs through the trees. But this changes after a short time and the path branches off over the field and you are back at the water. We crossed the lattice bridge to get to the other side of the river and continue along Route 95. From then on the path leads steadily along the beautiful Doubs river over meadows / pastures and through woods. Again and again cosy places invite to stay, which we then also used. After we strengthened ourselves at one of the public barbecue places, we continued in the direction of St.Ursanne. THE WHOLE TAPE IS UNDER NATURAL PROTECTION, so I let mine off the leash only for a short time so that it could cool down and refresh itself in the Doubs. There were also occupied pastures to cross, but the cows didn't show any interest in us. At St. Ursanne you can see the big viaduct from far away, which leads directly to the railway station above the town. The road leads directly to the picturesque little town, which also invites you to stay. But because the weather was fine, there were a bit too many people for us. So we decided to go in the direction of the train station. Here in the small town shortly after the archway we walked to the left and followed the exhausting way a little bit, which leads past a small chapel on the rock and goes through the forest again and you have a view over the whole town. For this reason alone it is worth taking the path. Since we left already in the morning, we met only few people on the route.

A wonderful easy hike that can be done almost any time of the year.
