From the middle station in Ried-Mörel the route begins with a short steep ascent through the small village up to the flat hiking trail. Afterwards you hike on gentle forest ground, along a small moat and between single birches towards the gorge. In two or three places, a head for heights is required, as the path is reduced to its minimum width or even replaced by a wooden bridge. Nevertheless, the route remains dog-friendly, as these sections are only of very short distance. Once you arrive at the end of the valley, there are several possibilities to extend the route, either by passing the lattice bridge towards Blatten or by taking the steep ascent to the Riederhorn. Those who prefer a more comfortable variant choose the same way back through the Massa canyon to the middle station Ried-Mörel.
