Livia with Kaya (from 03.04.20):

There are certainly better days to visit this place. But since we are looking for (and have found :-)) loneliness, we don't want to withhold this round. Beautiful for summer days, with cooling down and barbecue.

We park our car at the hospital Wattwil (subject to charge). Either follow the main road uphill and follow the hiking trail signs or walk through the settlement downhill again (to the gravel works) until you reach the gravel works and walk back up the river.

We have decided on the second option.

The trail winds parallel along the bed of the Feldbach stream. From time to time there are stairs and bridges to cross. Please wear good shoes and do not walk after rainfall, as it is very slippery!

We stop briefly at the waterfall. An enchanting and magical place and perfect to stay at "non-corona-times". We call it "waterfall of wishes" and hope that this difficult time will soon be over.

We're going on. From here on the stairs are really steep. Therefore this tour is not recommended in reverse.

Back on the plain we walk along the main road for a while until the hiking trail to the right goes away towards Iburg. The castle is closed due to current events. The hiking trail leads us past the castle. At the top we enjoy the wonderful view and walk on this part of the St. James' Way back towards the hospital to our starting point.

A wonderful circular route for summer days to enjoy the cooling off, pause, relax and recover.

Please take the dogs on a leash and keep this little paradise as clean as we found it today.

Robidog's and rubbish places are at the parking lot.
