On 24.12.2017 we (Claudia and Nicole with the dogs Asco and Roxy) set out on the winter hiking trail Niederhorn - Hohwald - Waldegg.
We would like to recommend this fantastic panoramic hike to other dog owners. Like most of the mountain railways in the Bernese Oberland, the Niederhornbahnen are dog-friendly. The dog travels with you free of charge. Only the PostBus ticket from Waldegg back to Beatenberg Station at the end of the journey costs CHF 2.20 per dog.
The hike begins on the Niederhorn and offers an unbelievably beautiful panorama that can be admired along the entire route. The path is superbly prepared and can be walked on with good winter shoes. However, a certain basic condition is required, as the pure running time is 3 hours. As there are no catering facilities on the way, we recommend that you bring your own drinks and possibly sandwiches.
