Ewil Maxon to Giswil

Reto, Tanja and Kesh (from 08.06.23):

We park our car in Giswil at the Zentralbahn station. There is blue zone in front of the Coop, or paid parking in front of the station and behind the station Park and Rail parking. When we are ready to start, we take the train to the Ewil Maxon stop. For our senior, the 4km back is an ideal distance. Fitter quadrupeds can get off first in Sachseln (6km) or in Sarnen (10km). We take the underpass in Ewil Maxon to the lake. The lake path is for pedestrians only and leashes are compulsory. The dogs can always swim and there are nice benches and also Robidog. Towards the end of the lake we see the restaurant Zollhaus above the railroad line. Below the railroad line there is a stop of the Sarnersee scheduled boat. We continue walking and come along a nature reserve. A short stretch is asphalted and then we cross a road. Then we come to the Melchaa, a beautiful renaturalized stream, there are quite a few beautiful wildflowers and Kesh can have another good swim. Before the village of Giswil we cross the Brünigstrasse and walk behind the main road through the industry back to the train station.
