Elvira and Amigo Roman and Lio (from 25.10.20):

This Toggenburg circular walk starts at the Alte Post post bus stop in Ganterschwil (free parking).

Along the main road, the route leads a few hundred metres back towards Bütschwil. The passage on the pavement is fortunately only short. At the game reserve (deer) you finally change to a little road on the left called Lochermoos. From there you have a good view of the nearby Lochermoos bridge, which connects the villages of Bütschwil and Ganterschwil. The route here is a longer stretch to the Bruder Tobel gate where you pass through.

From a distance you can see the chapel Maria Magdalena where there is also a self-service broom shop. The path leads past the chapel into the woods until the former hermitage. After a few hundred metres you reach a small clearing. Spectacular are the waterfalls that plunge from the rocks into the valley at this somehow mystical place. The path on the left leads up the steep stairs to the cave with resting place. The ascent over a narrow path with numerous steps is exhausting. But soon one is rewarded with an impressive natural spectacle. The Bruedertöbeli cave behind another rushing waterfall is really something unique! The brave ones can even explore a small side passage. A public resting place, which has been set up by a club, invites you to take a breather.

The path continues upwards on steep stairs to the top. But soon you leave the gorge and step out of the forest. The view sweeps over to Bütschwil and on to the Hörnli, which is in the canton of Zurich. During the whole tour, one repeatedely has some wonderful views. We keep to the right towards Geissberg and continue to Freudenberg, from where the Churfirsten and Säntis can be seen fantastically on a clear day. From there towards Unterwald, Füberg and further on via Tobel towards Äwil. Before Äwil we turn right and follow the signpost back to Ganterschwil.

Attention with very small children the stairs are very steep.
