The Binntal is considered to be the area in Switzerland richest in minerals.
You can park in the community of Fäld on one of the paid parking lots. From here the beautiful round tour to the Mässersee starts. Passing the Rock Experience Trail, the path winds its way steadily up through beautiful stone pine forests, which now in autumn show themselves from their most beautiful side in the sun. If you look carefully, you can discover the different types of rocks, which really sparkle depending on the light. The magnificent panorama of the surrounding mountains is not lost either. The ascent is worth it, because at the top the beautiful Mässersee awaits you. In summer it reaches a pleasant temperature because of its shallow depth and attracts some people for a swim. Of course, you can also swim in it in the fall, but for us it was a bit too cool. Since a stronger wind arose we have shortened our break somewhat and have continued the tour. Past the lake, again a small climb awaits, before it then goes down again on the other side towards Fäld (parking lot). Who would like can extend the tour as desired. The path is not dangerous and can be done well with a dog, but surefootedness is required. On the whole route we have met no one. Since it is a nature reserve, dogs must be kept on a leash.
