Mittlisthütte - Tripolihütte - Stäfeliflue - Blaue Tosse

Directions: From Entlebuch direction Gfellen, Between Finsterwald and Gfellen turn left direction Mittlisthütte. Park at the dead end. Attention, on weekends it is more difficult to find a place. Public transport is also possible, but the hike will be a bit longer and several meters of altitude difference. By public transport from Entlebuch railway station, then take the post bus to Gasthaus Gfellen and from there the hike begins. The path is signposted.

This hike is only suitable for experienced hikers and dogs. You have to be free from giddiness and sure-footed and don't forget to pack a good harness for the fur nose.

From Mittlisthütte follow the mountain trail. First you cross the farm and then you walk slowly into the forest. After a quarter of an hour you will reach the metal bridge. Afterwards you continue in the forest and along the rock. Also look up to the left from time to time, there is a hidden bunker. Keep left until you reach the yellow signpost. There is a small bench here and behind it our trail continues towards Stäfeliflue, Mittagsgüppfli and Tripolihütte. For a short time we pass through the forest, but after a few minutes we reach a huge mountain meadow. Here you follow the signpost. It goes up slowly and you have to look back from time to time, because the view gets better and better. From the water basin it becomes less steep for a moment and you can enjoy the walk along an old Romanesque stone path. Later on, this path leads down to the alp again. Take your time to enjoy everything!
At the alp, turn left up to the Tripoli hut, which is a rather steep climb. At the hut it is worth taking a break, most of the time it is not guarded.
Then the trail continues over the Cham towards Stäfeliflue. It goes up and down, over various difficult places, where you have to be sure-footed and free from giddiness.
Arrived at Chrüz from Stäfeliflue, you can enjoy a wonderful view over the whole Biosphere Entlebuch. Do not forget to write something in the summit book!
Continue slowly downhill towards Risetestock and Blaue Tosse. You come to a large meadow again, where you can choose how to continue. To the left you descend again over the forest, at the bench and back to the Mittlisthütte. On the right it leads to Blaue Tosse and then down to Risete. This route is longer and more strenuous. At the alp Risete and one goes briefly on the asphalt path until the hiking trail turns back into the green. Then one goes down the meadow and gets back on the road until the car.
