Nadja, Marcel, Elias, Lynn and Eila / Insta Nadjaimmoos (from 23.10.22):
In glorious autumn weather we start this beautiful and varied hike at the valley station Sattel-Hochstuckli. When the weather is nice, the large parking lot fills up quickly.
With the world's first revolving gondola we ride to Mostelberg, 1200 m above sea level. On the ride we have a great panoramic view of the village of Sattel, Lake Aegeri and the surrounding mountains. Once we reach the top, the children's hearts beat faster. There is a lot on offer here for young and old.
At the beginning of our hike we split up briefly, the suspension bridge is spectacular, but for the dog's paws and my fear of heights, it is unfortunately not so good. So I meet my family at the next signpost and from now on we follow the signs "Haggenegg". Now we are already sweating mightily, the path leads uphill through a beautiful forest path with steps. At the top, the view of the mountains of Central Switzerland widens and on this autumn day we can even see a small sea of fog.
Soon we get hungry and look for a place to have a picnic. There is also a restaurant on the route. Now we follow the signs "Ibergeregg" and hike in gentle ups and downs behind the two myths.
A beautiful environment over meadows and forest paths with a view of the imposing rocks. Directly at the small Mythen we observe a chamois from a distance. Arrived at the end of our hike, we board one of the Rotenflue gondolas, which takes us down to Rickenbach with a great view of the Schwyz "Talchessel" and the two lakes.
By bus we return to our starting point, Sattel.
Our tip: The hike is less strenuous when hiked in the opposite direction.
The round trip ticket can be bought at both valley stations. Dogs pay only for the one-way ticket at the Rotenfluebahn (CHF 6.-) plus the bus ticket (CHF 3.60).
Many thanks @Sattel-Hochstuckli for this eventful day!
