Livia with Kaya (from 11.05.18):

Already the trip with the Staubernbahn is an experience in itself. The energy- and environmentally neutral train makes you want more with its all-round panoramic windows. It is not exactly cheap (CHF 18.-/track/early - dog CHF 5.-) and definitely worthwhile to experience this hike.

From Stauberen it goes steeply downhill. Sure-footedness and good shoes are required. The panorama is simply magnificent. In the middle of the Alpstein massif, the Sämtisersee is already sparkling towards you. Once on the plain, a pleasant, wide gravel road leads to Bollenwees, where the mountain inn of the same name is located. Here, by the way, dogs are also allowed to stay in selected rooms (important on request and CHF 12.-/night). We spent our lunch break directly at the Fählensee. The reflection is gigantic and who knows what is up and down there.

The hike continued to Saxerlücke. This ascent is quite demanding, but also here breaks let the fascinating mountain scenery take effect.

Along the Furgglenfirst to Stauberen again, where the train brought us back to the starting point.

Those who are not free from giddiness can choose the way back in the plain. It is also possible to extend the hike with the Sämtisersee and then to the world-famous Seealpsee, where you will certainly meet many enthusiastic hikers, among others from the "Aescher" mountain inn.
