Hermitage Magdalena

Hermitage Magdalena

Nathalie + Andy with Indira / Tredogs.ch (from 15.06.24):

The Magdalena Hermitage is dug into the rock face above the Schiffenen reservoir and is located in Räsch near Düdingen. It consists of various rooms with a total length of 120m. The hermitage belongs to the parish of Düdingen. Visitors walk on sandstone dunes that bear witness to the presence of a sea in Fribourg around 20 million years ago.

We parked directly at the shooting range. From there, we followed a short dirt track along the highway directly to the hermitage. If you prefer, you can start the hike in Fribourg and then reach the sight in around 2 hours.

There is no official leash requirement at the hermitage, but out of respect and decency we keep Indira on a leash.

Please note the OPENING HOURS.
The hermitage is closed between November and March
