Reto and Tanja with Kesh (from 09.04.21):

Today the visit of the Bernese Bantiger is on the program.

We choose a rather unusual approach, because we prefer to hike for ourselves. Most of the visitors come from the direction of Bern. We drive to Hub and park here on a public parking lot free of charge.

From our starting point we take the hiking trail that leads us along a stream to the Klosteralp. On the Klosteralp we take a rest on the benches, then our path goes along the ridge with a view into the Lindental, a nature reserve.

We can also see the Alps through the trees again and again. The last part to the Bantiger is on a tarred road. I stay with Kesh at the foot of the tower and enjoy the great view of the city of Bern. Reto climbs the lattice stairs to the top of the tower.

Back we hike to the Mosegg. First stairs lead us down, then we walk through the forest again. Towards the end of our hike we pass an organic farm.

The Bernese mountain dog comes towards us with his tail up. Since Kesh is not well, I look for the farmer and ask him to hold the dog until we are through. He kindly agreed and we passed the farm without incident.

Afterwards we come back to the stream where Kesh refreshes himself. We were almost always alone on our hike, only at the Bantiger there were many tourists and I think at the weekend there will be even more.
