In the 150m long cave on the northern slope of the Selun is this karting cave. In earlier times bears hibernated here. In the 20's an exposed eccentric lived here in the wilderness. The beautiful hike "On the tracks of the wildman" was named after him.

Livia with Kaya (from 07.05.2020):

The Wildmannlisloch we have often set ourselves as a goal and today we finally reached it. Wonderful weather pulls us in the domestic mountain world. Unfortunately the cable cars are not running yet and so we decide to take the car to the Alp Sellamatt (private road). We get the driving permit at the coin machine in the Schwendi, Unterwasser (1 day CHF 10.00 / 2 - 14 days CHF 20.00).

All alone, as gastronomic establishments are closed due to the corona, we enjoy this fantastic circular trail below the seven Churfirsten peaks. There is still snow and the Legend Trail will also be prepared later with individual adventure resting places. But this wonderful silence and the view of the fantastic mountain world is priceless for us. To enjoy it, there are enough resting places available and also fireplaces are waiting for guests.

The Wildmannlisloch is about 150 m long and can be entered without danger. But it is slippery and therefore it is recommended to put on good shoes for the whole hike anyway (partly there is still snow).

During the season there is certainly a lot going on here, as there is a tarred road from Alp Sellamatt to the finish. The advantage of this is that it is also possible to do it barrier-free.

In order to escape the tourist stream and to enjoy this natural beauty in peace and quiet, we recommend pre- and post-season periods as well as visits during the week.

From 21.05. - 01.11.2020 the Berghotel Sellamatt will be open again and dogs will stay free of charge.

Another way to reach the hotel is by the adventurous crate lift to Strichboden. From there it is 15 minutes to the cave (great family experience).
