Paxmal Walenstadtberg

Paxmal Walenstadtberg

The well-known Swiss engraver, artist and graphic artist created the monument in 25 years in solitude under material and social deprivation and with great self-discipline. The Paxmal (peace monument) is not a place of worship, but a quiet, peaceful place for inner collection, contemplation and meditation.

The left wall of the monument depicts life on earth: The human couple in their being and becoming, love and procreation. The right wall is dedicated to spiritual life: the awakening, the struggling, the seeing and the rising. This incomparable work of art encourages meditation and reflection on us and our forms of society on the way to becoming comprehensive, creative and good people. Source: schweizmobil.ch

Livia with Kaya (from 06.12.19):

Mystical atmosphere with thick fog - time for a new adventure! The Paxmal in Walenstadtberg offers the right opportunity for every level of ability: by car or public transport - a hike or rather a leisurely stroll.

Today, at over 1200 m above sea level, a magnificent sea of fog lies at our feet. Above the parking lot Hochrugg there is a beautiful fireplace which invites you to stay. From there it is only a few minutes to the Paxmal. A really worthwhile excursion!

From Walenstadt (lake): about 3 hours

From Walenstadtberg: approx. 1.5 hours

From the rehabilitation clinic: approx. 1 hour

From Hochrugg car park: approx. 10 minutes
